Purpose of this role:

The Field Applications and Market Development Specialist is responsible for providing a broad range of pre- and post-sales support for mass spectrometry products and select HPLC equipment.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: 

• Work with Sales Representatives on sales calls at customers’ laboratories to provide technical and applications expertise
• Provides start-up and on-going applications training to customers in their laboratories and demonstrates proper operating procedures with SCIEX mass spec instrumentation
• Provides technical training to sales staff
• Work with customers and SCIEX associates to resolve technical issues promptly
• Provide troubleshooting and application support to customers, both in-house and on-site as well as by e-mail and telephone
• Proactively build and nurture relationships with new and existing customers
• Gather and provide market information on increasing trends, new methods and other items that may be of interest to a wider audience
• Work at trade show booths to present SCIEX mass spec products and solutions and gather market information and build customer relationships

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) or higher in chemistry, mass spec or other relevant science related fields is required.
• Requires 1-2 years of relevant industry experience which should include techniques that are required by the role
• Experience in presenting technical materials in written and verbal form (with training or lecturing desirable)
• Working knowledge of proteomics environment and nanoflow chromatography

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following experiences, it would be a plus:

• Technical knowledge in proteomics analysis using LC-MS/MS
• Previous operation of SCIEX MS systems or related instrumentation
• Basic understanding of customer business, applications, and other needs
