Job Mission

Within Chanel FBP R&I Korea, in strong collaboration with other worldwide R&I centers bring technology prospective prototypes to IRD(innovation, Research and Development) by formulation to make further growth of Asian and Global business.

• Propose innovative formula that embody Korean Technology, trends, rituals which could match to Chanel’s strategy.
• Lead prospective formulation projects.
• Create strong network with Korean suppliers (RM, Packaging, ODM, Startup) to lead product development and research.
• Analyze competitor's products with technical point of view and infuse insights.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver assigned innovative projects with R&I Korea Manager:

• Lead glocal(Global+local) prospective product formulation in strong collaboration with worldwide R&I and local suppliers
• Analyze and report competitor technologies and detect unmet needs or new solutions for own products.
• Deliver designed prospective products (formulation/ whole product concept)
• Support IRD in France once the prospective result is transferred to launch plan. Be the Korean technical relay to watch new technologies/ innovations in Korea/Asia and provide technical assessment to management, WWD R&I and internal counterparts.
• Search Korean novel RM’s to enrich and upgrade texture/efficacy and deliver new benefits
• Lead eventual technical projects: RM customization or finding technical solutions
• Apply those new technologies to formulation, assess first benefits, and share.
• Keep an eye on all items related to cosmetic innovations. Collaborate strongly with Local team and IRD in technical issues:
• Project management
• Support local FBP on technical needs: marketing, training, others.

Role Specifications

Academic / Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or Master degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical is preferable). Master degree is preferred.

Required Competencies:

• Language: Korean/ English mandatory, French can be a plus.
• Good presentation/ communication skills in both Oral and Written.
• Familiar with Connected working environment with worldwide centers.
• Pc skills: MS office
• Personality: Active, Curious, Collaborative, Structured and organized, Responsible, Creative, flexible and adaptable

Key Interactions / Stakeholders

As international organization, and representative should have a good business manners and skill on communication.

Internal

• Within Chanel WWD R&I, interact with WWD formulators in Japan, US and France
• Within Korea FBP division, interact with local teams

External

• RM/ Packaging Suppliers, universities, subcontractors, startups.
• Cosmetics sciences society, related associations etc.
