Treasury Officer - Investments

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. The Treasury Officer - Investments reports to the Head of Investments. Their primary responsibilities include assisting in the build-up and running of AIIB’s liquidity investment portfolios through modeling, forecasting, scenario analysis, and other technical work, which will serve as a base for decision-making not only in day-to-day trading but also in the implementation of long-term investment strategies.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical work to support the decision-making process in the liquidity investment area.
  • Contribute to the analytical and financial modeling work needed for portfolio management.
  • Conduct industry and market research.
  • Contribute to the strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction decision-making process.
  • Support the management of daily activities pertaining to investment operations, including the rebalancing of portfolios and managing of cash balances pending investment.
  • Support reporting on performance and risk of investment portfolios and propose reporting and data management enhancements.
  • Feed and maintain important data pertaining to investment operations to ensure proper and timely reporting and analytical work.
  • Implement and maintain data management software on a daily basis.
  • In collaboration with other Treasury units, review, analyze and store important news wires, papers and articles relevant to the management of portfolios in the international fixed income markets.
  • Contribute to the implementation of investment policies, benchmark selection, guidelines and risk controls.
  • Participate in the search and evaluation of service providers and support the negotiation of investment management agreements.
  • Support the management of relationships with trading counterparties and other service providers.
  • Assist in the planning and management of IT systems required for performance analysis and management reporting.
  • Participate, as directed, in interdepartmental working groups.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and controls at all times.
  • Contribute proactively to the improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Treasury function by leveraging technology, driving automation and defining best-in-class processes and procedures.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience working at the investment division of an international financial institution or multilateral organization, or equivalent work experience.
  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, or relevant technical fields.
  • Professional certification such as CFA would be an advantage.
  • Programming skills in MatLab are desirable.
  • Demonstrated sound understanding of the characteristics of a wide range of assets and instruments, mainly in the fixed income space.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge and experience of Bloomberg is a plus.
  • Proficiency in both written and oral English.
  • Team player with the ability to contribute to a multidisciplinary and multicultural project team.
  • Strong financial, analytical and modeling skills; ability to find creative solutions to accommodate different interests and ability to handle large volumes of data.
  • Strong organizational capability with an ability to carry out multiple and detailed tasks.
  • Has the ability to work under pressure, resourcefulness, initiative, good problem-solving skills, good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and good presentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
