The Embassy of Denmark is offering an interesting position in the ICDK. As an intern at the Danish Embassy you will gain international working experience in a dynamic environment and contribute to strengthening the important strategic relationship between Denmark and South Korea.

Innovation Centre Denmark

Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) Seoul was established in August 2013 with the mission to elevate Danish science and innovation through collaboration with world-leading ecosystems. ICDK works on consultancy basis for Danish enterprises within three overall themes: Green Growth, Science Diplomacy and Clean Tech.

On a yearly basis the centre has around 50-70 individual paying customers, as well as a number of universities and research institutions visiting and creating partnerships or agreements with Korean counterparts, as non-paying customers. The centre performs its effort mainly through four types of activities: assisting SMEs and start-ups; higher education collaboration; science and technology – partnerships and marked assessment; business development.

Focus and Responsibilities

The focus and responsibilities depends on each section and your prior work experience and competencies.

Innovation. The intern will be part of a dynamic team in the department Innovation Centre Denmark Seoul, which is one of eight global Danish innovation centres. As an innovation intern, your role will be to assist colleagues with company and industry research and analysis, planning and execution of seminars and events with particular focus on the areas ICTClean Tech and Life Science. Furthermore, you will assist in the research, making and editing of the Innovation Centre’s communication channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, and sometimes blogposts). You will also be responsible for ad hoc administrative tasks, as well as a general maintenance of ICDK’s databases and archives and project/process reports.

Requirements and working conditions

The Embassy of Denmark is looking to employ an intern full-time (37.5 hrs per week) for an initial period of six months with the opportunity for extension based on performance. Applicants for the position must have a relevant educational background (business/science/innovation/international relations/communication etc.) The intern should be outgoing, open-minded, disciplined, be able to work independently and think innovatively. Strong English and Korean language skills is required. Furthermore, curiosity about Denmark and Danish culture and prior relevant work experience within the relevant field is an advantage.

The Embassy of Denmark is looking to fill the vacancy on February 1. 2022 or hereafter. Deadline for submission of applications is 17.00 on December 27, 2021.
