Yonsei School of Business opened its program of sustainability engagement training to undergraduates for the first time during the 2018 summer semester. Dubbed uSET, the program aims to promote the sustainable growth of corporate social responsibility and the adoption of similar values in society.

The Yonsei School of Business operates the program with the cooperation of the Institute for Global Engagement & Empowerment and the Ban Ki-moon Center.

Students enrolled in uSET are encouraged to focus on concepts of social innovation in the course of experiencing social innovation and sustainable growth through a curriculum that applies management knowledge to real business projects.

Four teams assigned to foreign projects and one domestic project participated in this summer’s program. The three teams with foreign assignments visited Malaysia, Burma, and Cambodia’s Canaan Farmers School to seek effective marketing strategies for agriculture products by developing new sales channels and establishing economic independence.

The fourth team interviewed various women leaders such as the former government official who tabled a bill for a quota system for women executives, women entrepreneurs, working mothers engaged in various industries, and students in business schools. They also talked with a professor specializing in studying organizations to analyze institutional and cultural factors that empower the career success of women. The domestic team also studied a sustainable corporate governance system.
