The Financial Times has ranked the customized executive education programs of the Sangnam Institute of Management (SIM), an executive education institution affiliated with Yonsei School of Business, as 70th in the world in its 2019 listing. The SIM is the only Korean business school on the list.

The rankings recognized the 2018 customized programs run by the SIM for corporate clients, including major domestic giants Samsung Electronics, IBK Industrial Bank, the Shinsegae Group, the Kumho Asiana Group, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, LF, GS, and BGF Retail.

Evaluation criteria used for the rankings include program design, teaching methods and  materials, quality of faculty and students, new skills and learning, program follow-up, facilities, and the results of a survey of alumni. In the follow-up category of the rankings, SIM ranked 37th, recognition of the extent and effectiveness of its attention to feedback from participants and relevant services offered to them after they return to their workplaces.

The institute of Management was founded in March 1999 with the financial support of Cha-Kyung Koo, honorary chairman of the LG Group, and will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. Since its establishment, the number of companies participating in executive education at SIM has increased annually. Most of the companies have participated in its education program for a long time. As of 2019, about 18,000 executives have participated in its diverse programs that offer, on average, more than 20 courses each year.
